Matthews Playhouse of Performing Arts Opens New Summer Camp Sessions for Enrollment

Due to Popular Demand, Matthews Playhouse Has Added New Summer Performing Arts Camps to Take Place in Matthews & Indian Trail!

(Matthews/Indian Trail NC) Time may be running out to register for summer camps across the region, but local families will still have time to register for Matthews Playhouse Summer Performing Arts Camps thanks to new sessions that have been added. Since launching in 1995, the theatre has grown into one of the largest summer performing arts camps in the region serving more than 1000 children each year. To accommodate the high demand, the theatre has added new sessions to its 2023 summer camp roster and plans to expand to new locations.

For the first time this summer, children will now have the opportunity to experience Matthews Playhouse Summer Camp in neighboring communities like Indian Trail. Matthews Playhouse Executive Director, Sarah Baumgardner, says offering performance opportunities and building self-confidence in children is one of the pillars of the theatre’s mission. “Matthews Playhouse summer camps have long been regarded as an asset to the local community,” says Baumgardner. “We are on a mission to extend opportunities to students of all ages and backgrounds in a fun and supportive atmosphere regardless of where they live.”
