Celebrating 26 years! Matthews Playhouse values its partnerships in the community! There are so many we need to acknowledge. Though Covid has certainly impacted our offerings over the last two years, we are looking to the future with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment for the children, families and patrons of Matthews Playhouse we serve.
First - we are very grateful for the support of Matthews Township especially the Parks and Recreation staff with whom we work so closely. The Township staff and the Board of Commissioners have proven themselves helpful time and time again, especially in our outreach efforts to serve children and families in the community.
Second - we are so grateful for the support of the businesses and restaurants that assist us! Their financial AND in-kind help is invaluable to MP.
Third - Non-Profit Partnerships What many in the greater Matthews region do NOT know is that MPH also partners with many non-profits that serve the Community. Over the last few years, we have partnered with The Matthews Help Center, COS Kids, Bright Blessings, Turning Point, The Matthews Heritage Foundation, as well as the Matthews Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. In choosing a non-profit MPH provides complimentary tickets and provides opportunities for the non-profit to educate folks about their mission and values.
Our non-profit partner for Rainbow Fish is FREEDOM SCHOOL PARTNERS. Freedom School has itself been serving the greater Mecklenburg County region since 1999 with a summer literacy program for under-resourced children. For the last 5 years or so, MPH has provided arts and crafts materials for children at Freedom School, and we are ESPECIALLY proud of our high school theatre students, their parents and our summer camp teachers who have volunteered to help with Freedom School’s summer programs.
