Announcing the Cast of "Scrooge! The Musical"

Matthews Playhouse of the Performing Arts is delighted to announce the cast for Scrooge! The Musical, running from December 13-22, 2024. Now in its third consecutive year, this uplifting holiday production promises to fill the season with joy, laughter, and the timeless message of redemption.

Set to the enchanting musical score by Oscar-, Grammy-, and Tony-nominated composer Leslie Bricusse, Scrooge! The Musical brings Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol to life in a lively adaptation perfect for audiences ages 8 and up.

While Scrooge! The Musical has become a local holiday tradition, this year’s production promises fresh surprises for both returning and new audience members. Director Johnny Hohenstein, making his directorial debut at Matthews Playhouse, is bringing a fresh perspective to this classic tale. Expect new music, exciting special effects, and a high-quality entertainment experience that guarantees a joyous, fun-filled evening for the whole family.

A Cast of Talented Performers

Matthews Playhouse is proud to introduce a cast that blends new faces with returning favorites, led by Charlotte’s own Geof Knight, who will reprise his role as Ebenezer Scrooge for the third and final time. Knight, a beloved local radio personality and actor, has announced his retirement from the Charlotte stage following this production, making this year’s performance a special farewell. Joining Knight on stage is an exceptional ensemble of talent ready to bring the bustling streets of 19th-century London to life.
